Is Myeongdong safe to walk around at night? First time in Seoul

I'm a solo female traveler arriving in Seoul next week. My hotel is near Myeongdong and I tend to stay out late exploring. Is it safe to walk around at midnight or later? Any areas I should avoid? Would love to hear from people who've actually been there recently.
