Gwangju vs Daejeon — which is more worth visiting for 1-2 days?

I have 2 extra days in my Korea itinerary and can't decide between Gwangju and Daejeon. Gwangju seems to have more culture/history, Daejeon has the science museum and hot springs. Which one gave you a better experience? I like food, local culture, and not-too-touristy vibes.
