T-money vs Klimat Card vs Wowpass: which transit card should you get?
Quick comparison for foreign visitors (2026 updated):
T-money (₩4,000 + top-up)
- Available at every convenience store
- Works on all buses, subways, taxis
- Simple and universal. Base subway fare: ₩1,550
Climate Card Tourist Pass (NEW in 2026!)
- 1-day ₩5,000 / 3-day ₩10,000 / 5-day ₩15,000
- Unlimited Seoul subway + bus rides
- Now accepts international credit cards for purchase
- Monthly pass: ₩62,000 (includes Ttareungi bikes for ₩65,000)
- Best value if you ride 3+ times daily
Wowpass (free card, exchange fee ~0.5%)
- Currency exchange + transit + shopping payment in one card
- Great exchange rates at Wowpass kiosk machines
- TWO separate wallets: shopping balance + T-money transit balance (must load each separately)
- Does NOT work for online/delivery app payments
NAMANE Card (₩7,000 issue fee)
- Customizable card design (upload your own photo — K-pop idol, pet, anything)
- Transit + shopping like Wowpass
- Top up with international Visa/Mastercard/JCB
My recommendation: Climate Card Tourist Pass for short trips (best value). Wowpass if you want easy currency exchange + payments. NAMANE for a cool souvenir card.
